Threat actors (someone or something trying to get your information by pretending to be something else) use a lot of the same methods on governments, companies, individuals and more. Cybersecurity Awareness Month Week 3: Explore. Experience. Share.
Learn about the variety of careers in Cybersecurity. There are currently 500k unfilled cybersecurity jobs in the United States. You can get the experience you need for these jobs through traditional schooling, online certifications, and skill building seminars and bootcamps. If you work in cybersecurity share something exciting about your career.
Cybersecurity Awareness Month Week 2: Fight The Phish
Learn how to protect yourself from phising emails by spotting them early. Many of these emails will have typos, bad grammar, a bad domain name, an odd email address, and the call to action will seem urgent/invoke fear. If you get an email that seems like phishing report it to IT, close the email and report it to your manager, and make sure to know your companies phishing email policy.
Cybersecurity Awareness Month Week 1: How To Be Cyber Smart
Cybersecurity Awareness Month is observed in October of every year as a broad effort to help all Americans stay safer and be more secure online. This is the video for week one and our topic is: “How to be Cyber Smart”.
